Owl Babies is a lovely book full of beauty for you to enjoy.
I love the sensitivity of this story and its illustrations.
Each time I read Owl Babies I’m always amazed at the character development that happens with just a few words and a few pictures. You get to know these three little owls so quickly. I love this book so much that I have multiple copies of it.
It’s a wonderful bedtime story, especially when little ones have worries. The little owls in the story are worried – because their mom is off hunting. But it all works out just fine in the end. That’s a soothing reassurance to a young child who has a worry on their mind.
Owl Babies is published by Candlewick Press. See their logo in one of the photos below – and be on the lookout for that walking bear as a way to choose books kids will love. Every book we ever read that was published by Candlewick Press has been a sure win.
This book first published as a picture book. The book is available in board book format (as shown). The text length of the story is appropriate for young children (around age 3). The illustrations were done with black ink and watercolor crosshatching. The black background is actually pretty rare among picture books. Good for age 3 to 10.
